about us

Adventure Cornwall is a family business run by David and Catherine Collin. David is a highly experienced outdoor education specialist, who during his career has been responsible for the planning and provision of safe and enjoyable activity holidays for up to 50 people a day and has led a team of fourteen instructors across a wide range of activities.

He has over fifteen years of activity-related professional qualifications and experience, and on the way has picked up a masters degree in marine science, qualified as a Royal Yachting Association Yacht Master, a British Canoe Union Coach, and is qualified by the Mountain Leader Training Board to lead groups rock climbing, abseiling and in high moorland areas including overnight wild camping. He leads most of the activities at Adventure Cornwall and - in case you were wondering - is also a First Aid trainer.

But most of all he enjoys life and has put what he really loves at the center of his world. He stays fit by leading a physically active life and has created a beautiful, welcoming place at Lombard. Perhaps most importantly his current lifestyle now gives him plenty of time to play with his three children.

Catherine is a chartered clinical psychologist with extensive experience of providing consultancy and training in areas of stress management, assertiveness, team-building and communication. She runs her own well-established business Outlook Southwest, which provides psychological healthcare in a range of work places.

Thank heavens for Catherine; she is the steady one who keeps the Lombard lifestyle on an even keel.

David and Catherine have three children, Eliza 14, (going on 18), Tamara 12, Tristan 8 as well as various animals.

Eliza loves acting, thinks school is sometimes cool, likes Madonna and has a friend called Libby. Tamara has been riding for over five years, loves all animals and hates maths. She has friends called Josie and Lauren. Tristan loves tractors, anything mechanical and lives for Star Wars. The animals just like food...
