Lombard Farm offers two, family-friendly, self-catering holiday houses, which are cool in summer and warm in winter.
The Blue House, painted in shades of blue and white, has a sunny, Greek feel and is spaciously open-plan with high ceilings, exposed beams, good sofas and a wood-burning stove.
The Red House has the same spacious, fresh design and a warm, Moroccan feel.
Both these recently converted houses are contemporary and spacious whilst staying true to their original structure using local materials such as English oak and Cornish slate.
The houses have the use of the Link; a large, warm, communal room with a wooden table which seats up to 14, a small kitchen, video/DVD library and information on local activities. As well as a place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast with coffee and a newspaper, it is ideal for games, activities or a late-night candle-lit party. There is an MP3/Ipod hook-up and wireless broadband.
The yurt, new for the spring of 2006, is set in a secluded corner of the orchard protected by mature trees and has views over the meadow down to the river.
At last, here is outside living with inside comfort; soft, cotton bed linen, warm, colourful rugs underfoot and yet the grass just one step away.
